Marc Swersky, two-time Grammy-winning writer/producer, mentor to some of the most talked about up-and-coming names in music, joins state-of-the-art recording facility, Sound on Sound Studios in Montclair, NJ as an in-house producer. His tried-and-true methods of artist development have garnered recent success for artists like Jacquie Lee, NBC’s The Voice Season 5 runner-up, and DR King of The Voice Season 14’s Top 12, who is currently touring as featured vocalist with Kelly Clarkson.
Swersky’s trifecta of mentorship, co-writing, and production capabilities have spearheaded acts like Gedeon Luke & The People, whose songs have been featured in the recent blockbusters Creed, Get Hard, Barbershop 3: The Next Cut and shows such as Showtime’s Shameless; NYC’s alt-rock phenom, The Chordaes, who have garnered near 1 million Spotify streams; and critically acclaimed indie-pop sensation Ashley Delima, signed to ONErpm and voted one of “NJ’s Top Musicians to Know in 2019” by the Asbury Park Press. Swersky is also co-writer/co-producer for hip-hop duo Little Stranger, and his work extends overseas to Australia’s rising country music star, Brad Butcher
Working with Swersky means more than just the music. In 2014, Swersky launched Monocentric Music, a full-service entertainment & production company with a major focus on artistry & development, a specialty of Swersky’s. With the changing landscape of the music business, where artists are able to hold onto less and less control of their careers, he felt it necessary to offer a model which serves the needs of the artist as a whole. The business approach places high value on the human spirit of each artist developed. He has said of this approach that “Taking time (months or sometimes years) to develop an artist is really a lost art. I strive to bring back the old school approach to artist development. Most young artists want instant gratification. What they don’t always realize is that sometimes their impatience will ultimately be their downfall in this industry. Securing a lasting career takes time, commitment, hard work and focus.”
As a songwriter/producer, Swersky’s albums have sold in excess of 50 million copies. He is a two-time Grammy Award winner, featured on: The Bodyguard Soundtrack for the song “Trust In Me,” sung by Joe Cocker; Thanks And Giving All Year Long (Executive Producer, Marlo Thomas) on the song “I’ll Give Anything But Up” sung by Hilary Duff; and is a co-publisher on much of his catalog with EMI Music and SONY/ATV Music Publishing. Swersky is thrilled to join the outstanding team at Sound On Sound Studios, to continue to push the boundaries of art with exuberance and passion, while maintaining utmost dedication to artists he supports.
